ARM Ministry Updates BLOG

June 10, 2026
Dear Friend, Our team on the ground at the A.R.M. Center in Gambela, Ethiopia recently provided Food and Essentials Scholarships to approximately 100 orphans in Akoba County, South Sudan by the generous help from Northside Church of the Nazarene in Ft. Worth, Texas. These orphans sadly lost their parents during the ongoing war and have been displaced in need of food security and basic essentials. On behalf of African Relief Ministries, I would like to extend our sincere gratitude to all our donors and most recently, Northside Naz's Pastor Lynn who has a committed partnership with us making the recent Food Scholarships in S. Sudan possible! A huge THANK YOU! Your compassion and commitment has brought hope, comfort and relief to vulnerable children who continue to suffer in the midst of this terrible crisis. " We, therefore humbly appeal to our faithful donors, partners, and friends to continue standing beside us as we work together to save lives and restore hope to those affected by conflict and displacement in S. Sudan. Also, we kindly ask you to pray for our U.S. missions team that will be headed up by Pastor Ted Taylor and his leadership pastoral team from Hereford Church of the Nazarene , traveling at the end of July as we're asking for your prayers along the way for safety, donations, and that the mighty work of God to open doors while working with the regions' pastors, youth, and orphaned children at the new A.R.M. school building. They're excited to visit and bring encouragement to these people. We simply cannot thank you enough for your faithful generosity, and prayers that continue to make a meaningful impact for our organization! Sincerely, Rev. Michael Gatkek

African Relief Ministries' MISSION

The mission of African Relief Ministries or A.R.M is to pursue the physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being of those who have been or are living in war-torn South Sudan African regions. Also to support those displaced or living in refugee camps in other countries of Africa. While A.R.M assists all Africans regardless of race, gender, religious beliefs or ethnicity, special attention is given to providing educational programs and spiritual guidance to the powerless orphans, widows and their families with water, food, clothing and basic medical necessities so they can have a brighter future and tomorrow.

The ARM organization strives to provide a nurturing environment whereby these impoverished Africans are provided opportunities to achieve their full potential. The organization attempts to:

  • Develop, promote, and sustain programs that meet basic human needs consisting of food, shelter, faith & education
  • Establish partnerships that advance self-sufficiency and education
  • Advocate for peace and human rights in Gambela, Ethiopia, S. Sudan, and other regions of Africa
  • Help the African communities in the U.S. not only to help themselves, but also to provide support and assistance to their families remaining in these regions within Africa.
