<On May 15, 2026, African Relief provided food assistance to fifty orphans and unaccompanied children in Akobo County. Special thanks to Pastor Micheal Gatkek for mobilizing the funds to support vulnerable displaced children in Akobo.>

Dear Friend,

Our team on the ground at the A.R.M. Center in Gambela, Ethiopia recently provided Food and Essentials Scholarships to approximately 100 orphans in Akoba County, South Sudan by the generous help from Northside Church of the Nazarene in Ft. Worth, Texas. These orphans sadly lost their parents during the ongoing war and have been displaced in need of food security and basic essentials.

On behalf of African Relief Ministries, I would like to extend our sincere gratitude to all our donors and most recently, Northside Naz's Pastor Lynn who has a committed partnership with us making the recent Food Scholarships in S. Sudan possible! A huge THANK YOU! Your compassion and commitment has brought hope, comfort and relief to vulnerable children who continue to suffer in the midst of this terrible crisis. "

We, therefore humbly appeal to our faithful donors, partners, and friends to continue standing beside us as we work together to save lives and restore hope to those affected by conflict and displacement in S. Sudan. Also, we kindly ask you to pray for our U.S. missions team that will be headed up by Pastor Ted Taylor and his leadership pastoral team from Hereford Church of the Nazarene, traveling at the end of July as we're asking for your prayers along the way for safety, donations, and that the mighty work of God to open doors while working with the regions' pastors, youth, and orphaned children at the new A.R.M. school building. They're excited to visit and bring encouragement to these people.

We simply cannot thank you enough for your faithful generosity, and prayers that continue to make a meaningful impact for our organization!

Sincerely,

Rev. Michael Gatkek

It’s my commitment to bring these dear spiritual leaders together for the betterment of the spiritual community and to build strong, long-lasting relationships. Tribal practices must discouraged by the pastors who are ministering to their congregants.

This year, the mission team of A.R.M. had the privilege to travel to Gambella Ethiopia to provided different services to the vulnerable orphans. We had seven people on our mission team who went to Gambella, Ethiopia who all were extremely talented with very different gifts and knowledge to provide to the orphans and widows during the two weeks in early 2023.

This summer in Gambella, our mission's team had the honor to host the Pastor’s training and orphans program which has been a huge blessing for everyone here at ARM! We're grateful for so many highlights such as the anointed prayer line of believers, dozens of testimonies of God’s miraculous work, and Teaching the powerful Book of Acts! A big highlight of this event was our baptismal ceremony (see photos below). We ended with a baptism of 9 folks from the Pastor's Conference and then 30 dear orphans from the school. Many of them have traditions where you can’t be baptized without 6 months of classes. What amazing joy was felt in those baptismal waters! The Book of Acts show multiple times where people are saved and immediately baptized thus receiving the Holy Spirit. We put it into practice and God SHOWED UP!! We had those who got saved and then baptized almost immediately. God honored His Word. Blessings from our Africa team ~ Ted, Jennifer, Mike, George & Michael

I was asked by a teammate to describe our trip in two words my response was mission accomplished! There were things I had purposed in my heart to see, God brought it to pass over, and beyond anything I could have thought or imagined.
